Serotonin transporter polymorphism (5-HTTLPR) association with melancholic depression: a female specific effect?
AssociationN=1,394Bernhard T. Baune et al.(2008)· Depression and Anxiety

A study of 1,394 MDD patients examined whether polygenic scores for Big Five personality traits predict SSRI treatment response and remission. Polygenic scores for openness and neuroticism were significantly associated with SSRI treatment outcomes (p < 0.05), while conscientiousness was associated with response in the PGRN-AMPS sample. Cross-trait GWAS meta-analyses identified eight genetic loci shared between personality traits and SSRI treatment outcomes, with variants near YEATS4 associated with conscientiousness and SSRI response, and variants near PRAG1, MSRA, XKR6, ELAVL2, PLXNC1, PLEKHM1, and BRUNOL4 associated with neuroticism and SSRI remission.
