▶Single nucleotide polymorphisms within Adducin 3 and Adducin 3 antisense RNA1 genes are associated with biliary atresia in Thai infantsAssociationN=222Wison Laochareonsuk et al.(2018)· Pediatric Surgery International
A Thai case-control study (56 BA cases, 166 controls) identified three SNPs in the ADD3 and ADD3-AS1 genes associated with biliary atresia (BA) susceptibility. Recessive variants in rs2501577 (ADD3, OR 1.81), rs11194981 (ADD3, OR 1.58), and rs17095355 (ADD3-AS1, OR 1.92) increased BA risk, with the T-G-C risk haplotype showing OR 2.23. SNP-SNP interaction analysis revealed a positive biological interaction between ADD3 and ADD3-AS1 variants (GG/TT combined genotype, OR 4.75).
